Buddha on Kindness and Truth
The message I have today is about kindness and truth.
Forget what you were told about doing the right thing. There is no one right thing, but a myriad of actions that are truthful in any given moment. If you can disentangle yourself from what you are supposed to do, you can free yourself from many painful experiences.
There is no one universal truth. There is no one teacher who can save you from pain. Pain comes from not accepting the pain that exists. If you can accept that pain is pain, then it would cease to be. It cannot stay where it is not resisted, for what the ego releases ceases to hold power.
Truth is discovering your true self. Each person carries their own truth, arrived at in their own way. To impose your assumptions upon another brings trouble and sorrow. Walk your own path, that you may find your own truth.
Kindness is often misunderstood. It is not about telling people what they wish to hear. Kindness changes at every moment. It is wind, flowing and shifting. The nature of life is the nature of kindness. To be kind is to be truthful. To be truthful is to embody the light within.
The kindness you are seeking is the way to compassion for all. When one withholds love even for one being, one ceases to be a loving being. Be kind to yourself as you are kind to others.
When you open your life to another, you let joy flow through them. You allow them to be themselves, and you help them become what they are searching for. The truth of beingness is that love is for all, and love is what created all.
No one can predict the future, and so no one can predict what actions they should take. But as long as you are kind and honest with yourself, you can live a fulfilling life. Every life becomes a miracle when it is lived with kindness. The way to be kind is to discover yourself as one who can give and receive life’s blessings.
Truth is all. All is truth.
This is my message for you today.
