Buddha on the Raft and the Shore
Direct Channeled Message – Received from the Buddha in meditation
I Am the Buddha.
To seek light is to seek truth.
To see truth is to open one’s eyes
to the worlds beyond,
and within one’s own soul.
No one above, no one below.
The mind traps itself in this endless measuring.
Release the grip of thinking,
and all that remains is the being.
Not left shore, not right shore.
The middle way holds no shore above the other.
Do not cling to for or against.
Be gentle with what you can do.
Prefer neither like nor dislike.
This is how delusion loosens its hold on the mind.
Kindness is the measure of the heart.
Purity is the measure of the soul.
Walk gently. Bear lightly.
Let this be how you cultivate both.
Look for the one who is looking.
You will not find them —
only the looking remains.
See that what lies beyond the shore
needs a raft to carry you there.
But once you have crossed,
do not carry the raft on your back.
It has done its work. Set it down.
Even the teaching must be released
once it has brought you home.
Each breath in is like each breath out.
No beginning, no end, only the passing through.
Bear fruit in whatever soil your feet are planted.
It is the heart that bears the fruit, not the ground.
In the sway of day and night,
be at peace that all changing will change.
The body finds no rest.
So let the soul be where you rest instead.
Suffering is not punishment.
It is craving, meeting the truth of change.
Release the craving.
Keep the world.
Walk in light toward your goal.
Each step carries you into infinity.
The place you long to rest
is deep within,
and it is found alone.
Be a lamp unto yourself.
No teacher walks this last stretch.
No scripture, only you,
and the dark, and the light you carry.
